“Child’s Play” at the Vermont Flower Show

The annual Vermont Flower Show is coming up this weekend – March 6, 7 and 8 at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction, VT. Presented by Greenworks, the Vermont Nursery and Landscape Association, the theme this year is “Child’s Play”. Rebecca Lindenmeyr, certified horticulturist, designed the theme and was inspired by her own childhood in Maine. She wants to encourage children (and adults!) to experience “free play and regular contact with the natural world” and has some wonderful reasons why. Read the full explanation of her theme here.

Tickets for the event can be purchased through www.flynntix.org and are $2 off when purchased in advance. Private, guided tours are also offered before the doors open to the public for an additional $5.

Come get an early, and much needed, dose of spring at one of Vermont’s Top 10 Winter Events! With nearly 12,000 bulbs blooming and lilacs and crabtrees galore, the smell alone may be worth the trip. Hope to see you there!
